WCDA, Inc. Welcomes New Officers & Board Members (July 14, 2010)

WAYNE COUNTY DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE, INC WELCOMES NEW OFFICERS &
BOARD MEMBERS

Goldsboro, NC - July 14, 2010:

At their regular monthly meeting today, The Wayne County Development Alliance, Inc.(WCDA) today installed a new Chairman and Vice-Chairman to lead the board and also welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors.  

Keith Gunnet (Wells Fargo Advisors) and Jim Daniels (Daniels & Daniels Construction Company) are the new Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board, respectively.

“I am thrilled about being appointed Chairman of the WCDA,” said Keith Gunnet. “We are entering yet another phase of economic development as activity and interest in Wayne County is picking up.  I look forward to a busy and prosperous year for Wayne County and the WCDA.”

Chuck Allen (Allen Grading Company and Goldsboro Mayor Pro Tem)) will replace Charles P. Gaylor, and Grey Morgan (Southern Bank) will replace David Kornegay on the WCDA Board of Directors.  Both Gaylor’s and Kornegay’s terms recently expired.

“Mr. Allen served on the former Goldsboro Committee of 100 and the former Economic Development Commission (EDC) before the creation of the Wayne County Development Alliance,” said Joanna Helms, WCDA President, “therefore he is very aware of the our local economic development efforts and how they effect our communities and our county.”

Ms. Helms further stated, “We are happy to welcome Grey Morgan to our team.  He’s had experience in economic development in another county, so we expect him to hit the ground running.”

Established in 2006, the Wayne County Development Alliance, Inc. is a cooperative public/private, non-profit organization providing the lead in economic development initiatives for the advancement of Wayne County and its citizens through the creation of meaningful jobs and purposeful capital investments.
