Nationally Renowned Job Training Programs
North Carolina pioneered customized job training for new and expanding businesses more than 40 years ago. Today, this State-sponsored program is considered the best of its kind and is administered through the 58-campus North Carolina Community College System.
State-of-the-art customized training programs are offered locally through Wayne Community College covering a comprehensive array of technical skills including machining, electronics, aviation technology, biotechnology and much more. In most cases, training is free to qualifying companies, and can be taught on the college campus or at the employer's workplace.
One-of-a-Kind Workforce Certification Program
Wayne County leads the state of North Carolina in the issuance of Career Readiness Certificates (CRCs). Through the WORKS (Wayne Occupational Readiness Keys for Success) Initiative, we are able to provide our existing and prospective industries with a skilled and certified workforce. Our WORKS Model is a partnership of industry, education and local government and is the first of its kind in North Carolina.
